How to Record a Document

You ARE REQUIRED to provide a legible copy before your instrument is recorded.

Any text of an instrument submitted for recording not sufficiently legible to reproduce a readable photographic record after the recording process will be returned without being recorded.

Flaps or riders must be attached to the page on at least two sides; anything under the flap or rider will not be recorded.

The first page of the instrument must have a 3 1/4 inch X 3 1/4 inch space in the top right hand corner, measured from the top right side.  This space is for recording information and is to be left blank.  If this space is not provided you will be charged for an extra page ($5.00).

Subdivision, partition, and condominium plats are recordable, but are subject to a special approval process and special fees.  Call the Recording Office for more information.
