Citizen Participation Organizations (CPOs)

What is a CPO?

It is a Citizen Participation Organization - a place where you can discuss issues in a comfortable forum; meet neighbors who are interested in the community; get unbiased information; and find neighbors who will listen to your concerns and work with you to find solutions. All residents and business owners in Washington County cities and unincorporated areas are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Who supports local CPOs and Washington County residents?

Oregon State University Extension Service supports citizen involvement and CPOs through an intergovernmental agreement with Washington County, the sole funder of the CPO program. Extension CPO program coordinators provide information on land use and livability issues, resource referrals, and work with CPO members to increase understanding of public policy and county decision-making processes, and effective citizen involvement practices.

Please visit the OSU Extension Service CPO website for more information.
