Volunteer Opportunities Volunteers in the District Attorney’s Office work with the Victim Assistance Program in providing information, emotional support, and general advocacy to victims of crime. To work as a volunteer victim advocate, you must be over the age of eighteen and willing to commit to one full year of volunteering for a minimum of eight hours per month. Volunteers are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and are subject to a criminal background check. A mandatory 40-hour training is provided for all new volunteers, as well as continuing professional support.
