Washington County Animal Services & Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter also supports efforts to reduce the numbers of stray or unwanted animals that come into our shelter. We believe firmly that everything we can do to prevent animals from needing our shelter is just as important as providing great care and help to the animals who are here. We provide a variety of services that extend beyond the day-to-day work of an animal shelter and animal control organization.
We provide education in our community to adults and children about animal safety and care. We offer microchipping for pets, a low-cost way of helping people reunite with lost dogs, cats, and other creatures. We are designated as the agency that helps animals during disasters in our county. We also help to end the cycle of unwanted litters of kittens and puppies by supporting spay/neuter programs.
