What is it like behind the scenes at our shelter? The funny, the touching, the surprising, the weird? This blog will tell you. You'll be hearing from me, and from other staff and volunteers, and maybe the occasional animal!
Many of the people in Washington County and the surrounding area got to know me well during the 11 years I wrote the pet column for The Oregonian. I'm hoping this blog, which I'll contribute to at least once a week, will reacquaint my Oregonian readers with me. It will also be a place where other employees and volunteers will blog, so you'll get a chance to meet them as well.
For me, this will be a place to share what it feels like to manage an animal shelter – and the animal control programs we enforce throughout the County. Mostly, it will be a fun and light look at the adventures we have here. Some days, it will be a more serious reflection. I promise it will always come from the heart.
