Washington County Youth
The Commission on Children and Families values youth as partners who can devote tremendous energy and enthusiasm to the pursuit of positive change.
Opportunities to volunteer in their communities provide youth with leadership skills they can use throughout their lives. The Commission believes that youth can improve their schools, and communities.
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a group comprised of local high-school students who provide the Commission with a youth perspective on issues. They are also involved in a number of projects including town halls, the annual youth summit, and local politics.
