H1N1 Vaccination

The 2009 H1N1 disease is likely to continue and now is the ideal time to get vaccinated. Though we do not know the likelihood of a future wave of 2009 H1N1, we do know that vaccination is still the best way to reduce the health impact of influenza. Getting vaccinated is the most important thing you can do to protect yourself from the flu.  Schedule a vaccination with your healthcare system, private healthcare provider, local pharmacy, or through our county clinic.

The Centers for Disease Control and your local health department urge everyone to get vaccinated but continue to strongly encourage people in the following groups:
  • Pregnant women
  • Household contacts and caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age
  • Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel
  • All people from 6 months through 24 years of age
  • Persons aged 25 through 64 years who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza.
