Home Repair

The Older Americans Act Home Repair Program (administered  through Washington County Disability, Aging & Veteran Services-DAVS) is designed to help clients over 60 years of age with minor modifications, home repairs and adaptations necessary to facilitate the ability of the older individual to remain at home. 

DAVS uses a non-profit organization that provides labor and materials.  The individual must be a homeowner and HUD income guidelines will be used to determine eligibility.   Repairs could include installing ramps, grab bars, furnace repairs, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, weatherization and other minor home repairs.  Older Amercians Act funds help senior clients who would otherwise experience a financial hardship if they had to pay for home repair services on their own.
