Mandatory Abuse Reporter
Foster providers and their staff are mandatory reporters of abuse or neglect of individuals with developmental disabilities as defined in OAR 407-045-0260. Providers must maintain proof of mandatory abuse report training for the provider, resident manager and substitute caregivers prior to licensure and/or upon hire and annually thereafter. To report suspected abuse, visit the Protective Services page for contact information.
Mandatory abuse reporter training is offered free of charge approximately quarterly by Washington County Developmental Disabilities Program abuse investigators. For information about the next available training, please email Araceli Sandoval.
Mandatory abuse reporter training is also available online through the DHS learning center. View instructions.
Notification of mandatory reported responsibilities must be documented on forms provided by Oregon Department of Human Services, Office of Investigation and Training.
