The lobby of the Developmental Disabilities office located at 3700 SW Murray Blvd, Ste. 2100, in Beaverton, will be temporarily closed effective February 5, 2024 until further notice. This office location will still accept documents in the drop box located outside of the building and is open for appointment only. Our program provides protective services to help keep people experiencing Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) safe from abuse and neglect.

Protective services include the investigation of abuse complaints for people experiencing I/DD. We also offer other services and supports to help people be healthy and safe when they are at risk of abuse.

Reporting abuse or neglect of an adult

Our abuse investigation team conducts abuse investigations for adults enrolled in I/DD services. To report abuse that involves an adult experiencing an intellectual or developmental disability, call 503-846-3150. Program staff will take your report and our abuse investigation team will follow-up. Outside of regular business hours, call our 24-hour crisis line at 503-291-9111 to make the report.

Reporting abuse or neglect of a child

The Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) investigates all reports of abuse involving children. This includes children experiencing I/DD. To report abuse involving a child, call 1-855-503-SAFE (7233). Please visit the State of Oregon Child Safety website for more information about reporting child abuse.

If you feel an individual is being hurt right now or is in immediate danger, call 911 immediately.
