Rates for unincorporated Washington County customers
Rates charged by garbage and recycling collection companies are established by the Washington County Board of Commissioners. Each company must apply the Board-approved rates in its service area.

Residential service levels in unincorporated Washington County
Standard residential collection service - URBAN customers:
- weekly garbage collection in your choice of a 20, 32, 60 or 90-gallon can/cart.
- every-other-week recycling collection in a 90-gallon roll cart, with glass collected separately in a 14-gallon red bin.
- every-other-week yard debris collection in a 60-gallon roll cart.
Standard residential collection service - RURAL customers:
- weekly garbage collection in your choice of a 20, 32, 60 or 90-gallon can/cart.
- monthly recycling collection in two 14-gallon red bins
Commercial service levels for business and multi-family properties in unincorporated Washington County
For customers that use roll carts (32, 60 or 96-gallon sizes) or dumpster-style containers (1-8 yard sizes available), recycling service is included in your garbage bill. Customers that use a compactor or drop-box for garbage service can order recycling collection service for a fee.

Other collection services
The collection companies offer other services such as:
- curbside pickup of bulky items
- drop boxes and occasional containers for large projects
- residential will-call collection for residents that do not need weekly garbage collection
