Gang Presentations
Washington County Gang Education Team
The Washington County Juvenile Department and the Washington County Sheriff's Department collaborate services to provide a detailed presentation on gangs. There are several presentations offered to meet the needs of the audience. The types of audiences that we focus on are: Parents, Schools, Community, High Crime Areas/Neighborhoods, Counselors, and Youth.
Presentation is available in Spanish.
The purpose of the Gang Education Team is to:
- Educate school aged youth about the dangers of gang involvement.
- Increase public awareness/prevention ideas.
- Educate parents on gang awareness/prevention ideas.
- Address gang awareness in high crime areas.
- Provide guidance and community resources to gang-affected youth.
- Provide parents with a list of community resources that address gang issues.
- Access social opportunities for youth and families.
- To encourage communication within community leaders/members.
- Provide educators/counselors with appropriate intervention skills when dealing with gang-involved youth.
