Community Development Code Overview
When a development application is under review, staff uses requirements and standards from the Community Development Code to determine whether or not a proposed development can be approved in its proposed location and what applicable conditions should be applied. Code standards are adopted in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public by preventing incompatible land uses from being established next to one another.
The standards within the Community Development Code are based on a collection of standards including Oregon State Statutes, Oregon State Administrative Rules, and ordinances adopted by the Board of County Commissioners.
