Violation Topics

The Current Planning Code Compliance Division is responsible for addressing land use code violations that are reported within the County.   This amounts to a small amount of the  violations that the County responds to.  Building Code Violations, animal violations, noise complaints, for example are handled divisions other than Current Planning.  Provided below is a table that lists the other divisions within the County that respond to code complaints, the types of code complaints to which they respond, and a contact phone number.

Current Planning

 Regulates  the development and use of property, and enforces the conditions placed on development. Also includes home business, (includes "kennels" with 5 or more dogs), vehicle storage and RV Use, development without a permit, and development activities within a flood plain.

Building Services

 Building Code: structural, plumbing, and electrical issues.  Enforces Building Permits, and responsible for abandoned/nuisance buildings when they are found to be a life and safety issue.

Solid Waste and Recycling

 Solid waste (any potential health risk including junk car parts and fluids, tall grass and weeds which can become fire hazards, waste that attracts rats, ect.

 Dog Control Officers - Barking dogs, Loose dogs & livestock, animal bites, etc.

 Abandoned vehicles within right-of-way of public roads, suspected criminal activity (drug house, theft,stolen cars, chop shop, etc.)
