2035 Transportation Plan
Washington County is studying the current transportation system and how it could change to better meet the long-term needs of the County's residents, businesses, and visitors. The result of this study will be an updated Transportation System Plan (TSP) that will include all transportation modes, including freight, pedestrians and bicyclists, transit, rail networks, airport, and motor vehicles.

NW Saltzman Road Alignment Alternatives
Washington County has prepared preliminary cost estimates of three alternative alignments.
The Board of County Commissioners adopts the policy framework of the Transportation Plan.
The policy framework reflects over a years worth of work and collaboration with members of the public, the Community Advisory Committee (CAC), Interagency Coordinating Committee (ICC), the Planning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners.
In April 2013 the county contracted with DHM Research to conduct a telephone survey ofWashington County residents to assess transportation priorities and preferences. Major findings include the following:
- Road congestion and maintenance are the specific transportation issues residents want addressed in the county.
- Residents in the county are satisfied with the availability of public transportation, sidewalks, bike-lanes, and/or trails.
- The most important transportation improvements for residents are maintaining existing roads and highways and using technology to improve traffic flow.
- Residents value a mixed approach to transportation solutions, with some leaning toward road improvements.
A summary report of the findings can be downloaded here.
The Community Advisory Committee will convene December 11th.
