For Immediate Release: Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Sponsored by: Department of Land Use and Transportation, Capital Project Services Division

Beginning Monday (Feb. 27), 10th Avenue in Cornelius will be closed between Holladay and Adair streets for road widening safety improvements.

Traffic will be detoured to 4th Avenue via Holladay, Adair and Baseline streets. All travelers are required to use the signed detour. (See map at route).

This project will add an intermittent center turn lane on 10th Avenue between Holladay Street and the railroad crossing, south of Baseline Street. Curb extensions (or"bulb-outs" similar to those on Adair and Baseline streets), continuous bicycle facilities and sidewalks will also be added.

This is the final unimproved section of Cornelius-Schefflin Road, a critical north-south link between US 26 and OR 8 (Tualatin Valley Highway).
