Open House for Bethany Boulevard Project
Washington County's Department of Land Use and Transportation is holding a neighborhood open house to discuss proposed improvements to NW Bethany Boulevard, between NW Bronson Road and NW West Union Road. The open house will be held Thursday, January 27, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sunset Presbyterian Church, 14986 NW Cornell Road. The county’s Capital Project Management staff will display four design alternatives and will request feedback from residents. The public is invited to attend. There will not be a formal presentation.
The proposed project will widen NW Bethany Boulevard to improve capacity and intersection safety. Additional improvements include new pedestrian and bicycle facilities, roadway lighting, elimination of roadside ditches, landscaping, and utility upgrades. Construction is scheduled to begin June 2012. The project is funded through the county’s General Fund.
