Brookwood Paving Map
Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation is scheduled to pave the last remaining section of the Brookwood Avenue improvement project Tuesday, August 7 through Thursday, August 9, 2012. Grinding and paving work will occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. Crews will pave the Brookwood Avenue/Parkway and Main Street/Baseline Road intersection along with a new second northbound lane on Brookwood Parkway extending approximately 1,400 feet north of Main Street/Baseline Road.

During work hours, traffic will be restricted to one lane on Brookwood Parkway between Main Street/Baseline Road and the MAX light rail underpass. The traffic signal at the Brookwood Avenue/Parkway and Main Street/Baseline Road intersection will also be shut down during work hours. Flaggers will route traffic through the work zone as quickly and safely as possible. However, motorists are advised to anticipate up to 20 minute delays when traveling through the area and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the work area during grinding and paving hours. Alternate routes include 28th and 32nd Avenues to the west and 231st Avenue to the east. Freight trucks are encouraged to use Cornell Road or 185th Avenue.

This work is weather dependent and conditions must be appropriate for paving to occur. If the weather forecast changes, the paving work will be postponed. The public’s patience is greatly appreciated.
