County Announces Final Paving on Cornelius-Schefflin Road; Expect Delays
For Immediate Release Tuesday, April 20, 2010
Road crews with Washington County’s Department of Land Use and Transportation will be applying the final layer of new pavement on Cornelius-Schefflin Road, between Council Creek and the roundabout, for two weeks, beginning Wednesday, April 21, 2010. There will be lane closures, but public access will be maintained. Expect delays between 9 am – 6 pm. Signs are posted. The work is weather-dependent.
Cornelius-Schefflin Road has been under construction since September 2009. A total of 1.1 miles between Verboort Road and Council Creek were improved and widened to match the lane configuration of the roundabout at Verboort and Cornelius-Schefflin roads.
This project was funded by county property taxes through the Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP). For additional information or inquiries please visit www.wc-roads.com or call (503) 846-7800.
Washington County is committed to building and maintaining the best transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the county roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
