Washington County Launching New Traffic Safety Campaign
For Immediate Release Tuesday, August 10, 2010
What do traffic engineers, road maintenance workers, bike and pedestrian advocates, deputy sheriffs and firefighters have in common? A concern for public safety! And traffic safety is a huge component of public safety. Recently, concerned staff from three county agencies decided to pool their efforts, beginning with a new county-wide web presence where traffic safety information could be easily accessed. Launched in July, the web address is http://www.co.washington.or.us/LUT/TrafficSafety/index.cfm.
The site includes videos and links to information for drivers, bicyclists, pedestrians, neighborhoods with traffic concerns and even a Kids Korner. Public feedback and requests for topics are welcome; please email lutdir@co.washingon.or.us with comments.
Washington County is committed to building and maintaining the best transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the county roadway system in a cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
