An open house for two safety improvement projects – on Rock Creek Boulevard and 174th Avenue – will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Rock Creek Country Club, 5100 NW Neakahnie Ave.

The event, sponsored by the Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation, is a chance for the public to learn more about the construction schedule and design plans. Project staff will be on hand to answer questions and solicit comments. No formal presentation is planned.

A pedestrian walkway will be constructed on the north side of Rock Creek Boulevard from Rock Creek Drive to west of Malhuer Avenue. This project will be funded through the Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD) safety improvement program.

Pedestrian facilities will be improved on 174th Avenue on the west side of the road between Park View Drive and Carl Court and on the east side of the road between Park View Drive and Bethany Elementary School. The west side improvement will be funded through the Minor Betterment safety improvement program. The east side improvement will be funded through the URMD safety improvement program.

Work on both projects is scheduled to occur this summer. For more information, visit the project websites, or contact Kim Haughn, Public Information Officer, at 503-846-7822 or [email protected].

If you need a sign language interpreter, assistive listening device, or a language interpreter, please call 503-846-7800 (or 7-1-1 for Telecommunications Relay Service) at least 48 hours prior to this event.
