North Bethany Subarea Planning
The Washington County Board of Commissioners (BCC) adopted Ordinance 730-A in 2010 and directed action on specific outstanding issues identified primarily as placeholders in Ordinance 730-A. Two groups of issues will be addressed by ordinances in 2011.
Group 1
Group 1 issues include:
- Minimizing conflicts along the North Bethany Subarea's urban/rural edges,
- Developing standards for building variety and design,
- Developing criteria that addresses how to ensure that some of the identified community service uses are provided in the Subarea over time, and
- Examining whether refinements are needed to the interim Article V pedestrian and bicycle standards, and refining assurances methods for park lands acquisition and conveyance to Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District (THPRD).
Resolution of Group 1 issues will allow removal of the FD-20 designation and submittal of development applications, dependent upon adoption of a County Service District to help pay for North Bethany road improvements.
Group 2
Group 2 issues would address other remaining placeholders, including but not limited:
- Creating new Planned Development standards for North Bethany
- Creating new standards for cluster housing, and
- Developing final plan amendment criteria for North Bethany.
