Driving Safety

The Oregon Driver Manual says driving is a privilege.  You earn it by passing a DMV knowledge test and a behind-the-wheel driving test.  You keep it by driving safely for the rest of your life.  Your safety and that of your passengers, other drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists depends on you.

Driving safely means you follow the rules of the road, avoid crashes by driving defensively, and are courteous.  Remember to obey the speed limits, always wear your safety belt and never drive if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs – prescription or otherwise.  Together we can make our road trips safe and (mostly) enjoyable.
