124th Ave (Tualatin-Sherwood to Grahams Ferry)
Current Activity - construction
Activity Update 9/7/16: A detour has been built on Tonquin Road to allow the contractor to construct the realignment of Tonquin Road with the new intersection at SW 124th Avenue. Mechanically stabilized walls are also being built on either side of the railroad to carry the road over the track. Bridge construction is anticipated to begin this winter.
Activity Update: 7/26/16: Flagging hours on Tonquin Road will be temporarily extended to 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Thursday, July 28. The change in flagging hours will help construction crews to complete the detour sooner than scheduled. Crews are aiming to keep traffic delays to no longer than 10 minutes. If the impact of extended flagging hours becomes too severe, crews will revert to the previous hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Activity Update 5/31/2016:
Utility work begins June 6 on Grahams Ferry Rd between Day Rd and Tonquin Rd and is expected to continue until August. Utility flaggers will direct traffic through lane restrictions.
Activity Update 3/2/2016:
A "Meet the Contractor" open house was held on Mar. 2, 2016 at the TVFR Training Center. If you were unable to attend the event, click on the design tab above to view the displays. Contact us with any questions.
Work on the following segments will begin this month:
- 124th Avenue from Tualatin-Sherwood Road to SW Tonquin Road
- Basalt Creek Parkway from Tonquin Road to Grahams Ferry Road
- Tonquin Road improvements west of the new intersection with 124th Avenue
- Grahams Ferry Road improvements from Day Road to Basalt Creek Parkway may also be included in this phase.
Construction on Tonquin Road east of 124th Avenue to Grahams Ferry Road, as well as the intersection upgrades at Grahams Ferry Road are anticipated to begin Sep. 2017, once Basalt Creek Parkway is open to traffic.
Completion for the entire project is anticipated to occur by fall 2018.
