Bethany Blvd (Hwy 26 to West Union)
Bethany Boulevard provides north-south access between the rapidly growing residential areas north of Highway 26 and mixed office/commercial areas south of Highway 26. The current roadway continues to see an increase in traffic, creating congestion and safety concerns. Bethany Boulevard also lacks bike lanes and has intermittent sections of sidewalk.
This project will widen the existing four lane Highway 26 overpass at Bethany Boulevard to six lanes, adding bike lanes, a sidewalk on the east side and a multi-use path on the west side. Bethany Boulevard between Bronson and West Union will also be widened to two lanes in each direction with an intermittent center turn lane. Sight distance will be improved at all intersections and continuous sidewalks and bike lanes will be added to both sides of the roadway.
