Activity Update 10/10/16: Due to weather delays, paving on Brookwood Parkway has been rescheduled to 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. Oct. 10-13. This is weather dependent and subject to change.
Activity Update 10/7/16: Nighttime paving of the southbound lanes on Brookwood Parkway is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Oct. 8-10. Paving of the northbound lanes will be 7 p.m-5 a.m. Oct. 10-12.
Work is weather dependent which may cause additional delays. Traffic signals may be turned off, with traffic directed by flaggers, and side streets may be closed at times with signed detours. Portable message boards will be posted to inform motorists of road closures.
Activity Update 9/29/16: The County's contractor will start nighttime paving of Brookwood Parkway, from Meek to Shute roads from 7 p.m.-5 a.m. on Sept. 29. Motorists should expect delays
Activity Update 8/8/16: Brookwood Parkway, between Evergreen Parkway and Dawson Creek Drive, will be closed the weekends of August 19-21 and Sept. 9-11 for reconstruction of the existing roadway.
During the August closure, all northbound travelers will be required to use the signed detour route to Dawson Creek Drive and Evergreen Parkway. Southbound Brookwood Parkway traffic will not be impacted during this closure.
During the September closure, all southbound travelers will be required to use the signed detour route to Dawson Creek Drive and Evergreen Parkway. Northbound Brookwood Parkway traffic will not be impacted during this closure.
Signs will mark the designated detours. All business accesses will remain open during the closures, and business access detour signs will be provided. Work hours will be 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Activity Update 5/25/16: Construction activity 9-3:00 p.m. at Hwy 26 and Brookwood Prkwy interchange to install traffic detection loops. Restricted lanes. Expect delays.
Contractors will return 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 1-2 for additional road work.
Activity Update 4/23/2016: Construction continues mostly during nighttime hours.
The speed limit north of Evergreen has been reduced to 45 mph for the safety of the workers and drivers. The lowered speed limit applies 24/7, whether or not workers are present. Fines for violations within the work zone will be doubled.
