Washington County, the City of Hillsboro and Tualatin Valley Water District are working cooperatively to improve NW Cornelius Pass Road between Frances Street and Wilkins Street.

Reason for Improvements
Due to increased residential and commercial development in the area, the traffic load has increased. The improvements will reduce congestion and improve safety.

Proposed Improvements

  • Replace the bridge at Beaverton Creek
  • Widen Cornelius Pass Road to five lanes, which includes a center lane for turning
  • Street lights
  • Bike lanes and sidewalks
  • Improvements to the NW Quatama Road intersection, including a new traffic signal
  • New waterline between NW Quatama Road and W Baseline Road
  • Replacement and relocation of existing waterline under Beaverton Creek
  • Flood plain mitigation
  • Storm and drainage facilities
  • Water quality and detention facilities
  • Two through lanes in each direction at the Cornelius Pass Road and Quatama Road intersection
  • 231st improvements between Baseline & the Light Rail tracks (continuous bike lanes & widened shoulders southbound & northbound) to improve pedestrian & bicycle safety
