Purdin Road Update 9/30/16: Purdin Road is now open. Crews are continuing work on the project through the end of the year, but all the roads are now open. Lane restrictions from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. may occur near the roundabout throughout October; motorists should expect delays.
Purdin Road Closure Update 8/12/2016: Purdin Road will be closed at HWY 47 for 40 consecutive days starting today. Left turn from Verboort Road on to HWY 47 will not be available during the closure. All travelers, including farm equipment, will be required to use the signed detour route. Traffic will be detoured to Kemper Road via HWY 47 and Thatcher Road.
OR 47/Verboort-Purdin roundabout update 6/29/2016: Verboort and Purdin roads at OR 47 will be partially closed through mid-August to construct a roundabout at the OR 47 / Verboort/Purdin Rd intersection.
All travelers, including farm equipment, will be limited to right in / right out access at Purdin and Verboort roads. Signage will be provided along the designated detour route. OR47 will remain open during this side street closure.
After mid-August, access to Purdin Road, west of OR 47 will be closed for 5 weeks to complete construction of the roundabout. This is a full closure - no motor vehicle or pedestrian traffic permitted. Businesses and roadside stands will be open. Customers will need to use the detour route.
Expect intermittent closures in the roundabout until October 1st. Flaggers will direct traffic through the roundabout during the final paving portion of the project.
Full road access will be reinstated October 1, 2016.
Additionally, Porter Road will be closed at the bridge beginning August 1 to replace the bridge. This closure is expected to continue for 3 months.
David Hill Road extension update 3/25/2016:
Bids on this project opened March 16. Eagle-Elsner Inc was the apparent low bidder. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring with completion by spring 2017.
