Jackson School Road (Grant to Evergreen)

Project Description

Jackson School Road between Grant Street and Evergreen Road serves as a north-south link between downtown Hillsboro and Highway 26. Jackson School is currently a two-lane roadway with intermittent sidewalks, limited roadway lighting and no bicycle facilities.

This project proposes to improve the existing road to one travel lane in each direction with a continuous center turn lane, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, planter strips, an upgraded storm system and street lighting - matching up to the existing section near Evergreen Road. The project also has plans to improve the creek/drainage crossing between Rogahn Street and Evergreen Road.

This section of Jackson School Road is under the jurisdiction of the City of Hillsboro and the project will be managed by City staff.

Funding Information

The $5.4 million project is funded through phase 3d of the county's Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP). The total project cost includes the estimated cost of design, right-of-way and construction and is subject to change.
