Jail Abbreviations

Abbreviated terms commonly used in reference to adults in custody and their charges.

CC 
Lodged in the Washington County Community Corrections Center  
 
CONTEMPT OF COURT 
The person disobeyed a court order. 
 
CRIM TRESPASS I 
Criminal Trespassing I. The number "I" or "II" after the charge is an indicator of seriousness. A level "I" crime is higher than a level "II" crime in terms of seriousness. 
 
DCS 
Delivery of a Controlled Substance (such as selling, trading, or sharing drugs). 
 
FALSE INFO CRIM 
The person is charged with the crime of Furnishing False Information to a Police Officer. 
 
FELONY 
Felony indicates the classification of crime that was committed. Some crimes are misdemeanors, a less serious level of crime that often carries a lesser penalty and jail time. Felonies are more serious than misdemeanors and often imply prison time or other penalties if the person is convicted. 
 
FORG INST I 
Forgery of an Instrument. The person signed or executed a document in another person's name. The number "I" or "II" after the charge is an indicator of seriousness. A level "I" crime is higher than a level "II" crime in terms of seriousness. 
 
FRAUD-CRD 
Fraud by credit card use. The person is charged with using a credit card that is not in their name. 
 
FTA 
Failure to Appear (in court). The person was scheduled to appear in court and did not attend. 
 
FUGITIVE 
This person is wanted by law enforcement officers in another state and fled from that state. 
 
HOLD 
Although the person is in the Washington County Jail, another jail, correctional facility, or other law enforcement entity has a "hold" on them. This means the person will likely only be released directly into the custody of the other agency. 
 
INTERFERE PUB TRANSP 
The person is being charged with Interfering with Public Transportation, such as a bus or the MAX train. 
 
JL 
Lodged in the Washington County Jail 
 
MCS 
Manufacturing a controlled substance. Such as making methamphetamine or growing marijuana. 
 
METH DCS 
Delivery of a Controlled Substance called methamphetamine. 
 
OA 
Lodged at a Non-Washington County Facility 
 
PAROLE VIOLATION 
The person completed a sentence and was put on parole for a given period of time. A parole violation means they violated one of their parole rules. 
 
PCS 
Possession of a Controlled Substance. The person was arrested for having an illegal substance in their possession (drugs). 
 
PCS C FELONY 
Possession of a Controlled Substance that is classified as a "C" felony. In terms of how serious an offense is, "C" is lower than "A" or "B" felonies. 
 
PV 
Probation violation. The person was put on probation as a result of a criminal charge. The charge is sometimes included in the abbreviation. For instance, PV-DWS means the person was on probation for Driving While Suspended and violated probationary rules. 
 
SUPPLY CONTRABAND 
Supplying contraband. A charge related to providing prohibited items to a person who is in custody. 
 
UNAUTH DEPART 
Unauthorized departure (from a minimum security facility). This often means the person was allowed to leave the Community Corrections Center but failed to return as scheduled. 
 
UNLAW POSS CHEMICALS 
Unlawful possession of chemicals. 
 
UNLW ENTRY M VEHICLE 
Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle (such as breaking into a vehicle the person does not own). 
 
UUV 
Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (such as taking a vehicle without the owner's permission).
