National Night Out is an annual community event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit, and expand police-community partnerships.

We look forward to joining neighborhood gatherings across Washington County in an effort to discuss how we can work together to maintain safer communities.

This year's theme,"Lights On, Lock Up" provides education on how to participate in simple crime prevention strategies such as proper lighting techniques or securely locking property can help to improve the safety of our communities.  Deputies also plan to provide tips on how neighbors can work together year-round to help keep their homes and neighborhoods safer.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office and Officer McGruff will be at the following community events on the evening of Tuesday, August 2.

  • Banks National Night Out - Sunset Park/Speedway - 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
