The Washington County Wellness Program is pleased to invite all Washington County employees to begin your "Journey to Health" during Employee Health and Wellness Week August 19-23, 2013.

What's happening during the week?
Employee Health and Wellness Week is a County-sponsored function and we want employees to have the opportunity to attend. All employees are welcome and encouraged to participate in Employee Health and Wellness Week activities. Please coordinate your schedule with your supervisor, if attending activities during your normal work hours, allowing for reasonable amount of paid time to partake in the festivities.

The Washington County Wellness Program has partnered with KIND Healthy Snacks to provide a variety of seasonal fruits and KIND Healthy Snack Bars and Grains for a great start to our Journey to Employee Health and Wellness Week.

Robin Rose is back to fire us up! If you have seen her, you know that she will motivate you to start your own journey to health. If you haven't heard her yet, join in as Robin helps you find your passion, shares her health journey and talks about how small changes, can make a huge difference.

Join us for one of the following sessions; no registration required, however we recommend you arrive early.

To support our employees in reaching their health goals, we will be providing convenient on-site biometric screenings, health assessment assistance and wellness coaching sessions Monday - Friday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. at the Public Services Building (PSB) and on Wednesday from 6 to 10 a.m. at the Walnut Street Center (WSC).

Take these simple steps:

  1.  Have a fasting1 Biometric Screening - schedule your appointment online TODAY, before appointments fill up!
  2.  Complete your Personal Health Assessment - helpful instructions below
  3.  Ask a Wellness Coach
  4.  Attend the Health and Wellness Fair

Chance to win an iPad! Two iPads will be a raffle prizes for benefit eligible employees enrolled in one of the County medical plans, who complete their personal health assessment by August 31, 20132. After you complete the personal health assessment, you will be automatically entered in the iPad drawing, donated by Providence Health Plan and Kaiser Permanente.

We have coordinated not one but two fairs just for you! Several local vendors and community partners will be ready with interactive booths, activities and contests designed to get you motivated and answer questions you have.  Plus, we have a hula hoop contest, memory game and community service activity planned for you.

Fair vendors are bringing great prizes2, including passes to the adidas or Columbia Employee Stores. In addition, if you attend a fair you will have the opportunity to add your name to the Nike Employee Store Washington County Employee access list.

And, we almost forgot to mention, Annual TriMet Passes will be distributed during both fairs. All regular employees are eligible to receive an annual TriMet pass, so drop by the fair before or after you get your pass.
