Washington County realizes that for employees to perform at their full potential, they must also take steps to ensure their continued physical and mental health and meet other personal needs.
In many cases, Employee Leave not only refers to employees who hold regular full or part-time positions. Qualifying employees that are on-call or temporary are provided leave through State and Federal Leave Laws.
Qualified employees are eligible for:
- Victims of Domestic Violence Leave
- Family Medical Leave (FMLA/OFLA)
- Jury Duty and Witness Leave
- Military, Alternative Service, and Peace Corps Leave
- Workers Compensation
The following days are recognized and observed as paid Holidays for regular Employees:
- New Year’s Day (January 1)
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (third Monday in January)
Presidents Day (third Monday in February)
Memorial Day (last Monday in May)
Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day (first Monday in September)
Veterans Day (November 11)
Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November)
Christmas Day (December 25)
One Floating Holiday (must be taken during the calendar year)
*Regular employees are eligible to receive holiday pay only if present or in a paid status for the full time period of their regularly scheduled workday both immediately preceding and immediately following the holiday.
