Policies and Procedures

Washington County has developed and implemented a number of rules, regulations, and policies to provide a framework for management staff and employees in fulfilling the mission of providing services to the citizens and customers of Washington County.  These provide a prudent and practical framework for dealing with major operational issues in a coordinated and consistent manner.

The Washington County Personnel Rules and Regulations, policy guidelines and various collective bargaining agreements contain more detailed information and should be referenced for specific situations.

Visit Human Resources Policies and All County Policies for a complete listing of County-wide policies.

NEW Smokefree Campus Policy

In an effort to reduce the harmful effects of secondhand smoke exposure and create a
culture of smokefree living, the Board of Commissioners adopted the Washington County Smokefree Campus Policy.

It is our hope that our employees and visitors will enjoy the health benefits of being in
a smokefree environment. With this change we are pleased to be joining other
jurisdictions in Oregon that have already enacted smokefree campuses.
