Traffic Impact Statement (TIS)

Traffic impact statement is used within the Current Planning process to identify potential traffic problems and impacts with a proposed development.

A Traffic Impact Statement (TIS) outlines County transportation requirements and anticipated transportation system improvements of proposed/potential developments. The TIS is only a guiding document. Final transportation improvement requirements are established after a land development application is approved.

A TIS is recommended for all proposed developments generating 40 or more average daily vehicle trips (ADT). The TIS must be completed before applicants can submit land development applications.

To waive County TIS requirements, applicants must submit a TIS Waiver with applications, and provide required technical information and traffic analysis. The applicants are then solely responsible for researching the required transportation requirements and incorporating the requirements into proposal when submitting applications.
