Filing an Application

Applicants for Senior or Disabled Property Tax Deferral have an extended period to file applications to be effective for tax year 2020-2021.  The application will be considered timely if the form is filed with the Washington County assessor on or before June 15, 2020.

This extension does not apply to the due date for filing recertification information with DOR.  Please contact DOR if having difficulty meeting the due date for filing deferral recertification information.

Your application for deferral must be filed with your county assessor between January 1st and April 15th to defer the taxes that would be billed to you the next fall.  Applications and income worksheets are at your assessor's office or online at https://www.oregon.gov/DOR/forms/FormsPubs/deferral-disabled-senior_490-015.pdf

The Oregon Department of Revenue will not pay taxes that were delinquent when you apply.

For additional information, please contact the Oregon Department of Revenue at 1-503-945-8348 or email deferral.unit@dor.state.or.us for more information.  Also, refer to their website for answers to many common questions:  www.oregon.gov/DOR/FAQ/Pages/default.aspx
