Background
Commissioner Willey worked for 33 years as a certified public accountant (CPA) and partner in the firm of Jones & Roth CPAs and Business Advisors, retiring in 2010. He was elected as the mayor of the City of Hillsboro in 2009 and served eight years in that office. Commissioner Willey is a graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting. He spent four years in the U.S. Navy, including a tour in Vietnam. Commissioner Willey believes in giving back to the community and has volunteered for many organizations. In 1997 he was recognized as Hillsboro Citizen of the Year by the Hillsboro
Chamber of Commerce. He has also received a Mayors Leadership Award from the Oregon Mayors Association in 2015, a Special Merit Award from the Chamber in 2016, and the James C. Richards Memorial Award from the League of Oregon cities in 2016.
