The CPO 12F Steering Committee is made up of volunteers who live in and/or own a business or property in the community of Forest Grove. They are elected by their fellow community members (see elections below) to stay on top of the issues, deliver informative community meetings and events, and represent their communities at public hearings, neighborhood meetings, public events, etc.

Steering Committee Elections

CPO 12F Steering Committee elections are held every year. Nominations are accepted for a period of time prior to the meeting. If you are interested, contact CPO 12F Chair Kirsten Beier or Program Coordinator Kari Herinckx.

Leadership in Action

Being involved in your local CPO on a leadership level is a rewarding experience that offers many opportunities and perks.

CPO 12F leaders:

  • Get the personal satisfaction of helping to improve your community.
  • Make connections and build relationships with community members and leaders.
  • Find out first hand about all of the issues affecting the members of the Forest Grove community.
  • Learn and practice leadership skills such as meeting facilitation, group process, community engagement methods, public policy development.
  • Gain a better understanding of how government operates and the mechanisms to influence policies and practices.

Volunteer Parking Passes
When CPO and CCI leaders attend meetings and events at Washington County facilities within the City of Hillsboro Washington County campus, much of the available parking is time limited to two-hour parking spots. If you are attending an event that does last more than two hours, please refer to the CPO Volunteer Parking Permit Procedures, the How to Use Your Parking Permit and the Campus Map for the procedure regarding when a limited-duration parking permit can be issued to volunteers.

Special Project Fund
Every year, the County allocates money for CPOs to use toward special educational events, outreach activities or community projects. To use the funds, there is a formal application process that has to be completed. Read the Special Project Fund Overview to see if your project meets the criteria. If so, complete the Special Project Proposal Form and submit it to your Community Engagement Program Coordinator who will oversee your application and assist you through the remainder of the process.
