Get Involved - The Community Engagement Program

Program Manager Mike Dahlstrom will talk about enhancements planned within the program as well as several public involvement initiatives that will better support and coordinate community engagement across the county.

Share the Road - Traffic Monitoring in CPO 8
CPO 8 residents are reporting significantly higher traffic volumes on the rural roads serving their communities. The traffic is accompanied by higher speeds, risky driving practices, and ignoring traffic controls. This behavior imposes risk on the rural roads that have long served, by design, many uses such as school buses, farm equipment and farm product transport, cycling enthusiasts from neighboring communities as well as the residents in their normal travel.

Rural roads are a key part of Washington County's Transportation System. Staff from the Department of Land Use & Transportation will help us understand the ways in which residents can work with Department staff to improve and maintain system performance. In addition, we'll learn about the key methods that are now used to measure system performance and learn of new ideas for traffic flow management.
