Probation and Parole Overview

Probation and Parole Staff Directory

The Probation and Parole Division supervises approximately 3,600 justice involved individuals. It is made up of specialized teams to serve a variety of people.

This includes supervision teams for:

  • sex crimes
  • domestic violence
  • substance abuse
  • individuals experiencing mental illness
  • women

Supervision is a tool to meet court-ordered conditions while helping justice involved individuals live successfully in the community. At Probation and Parole, people are connected to resources that help with long-term stability, like finding a job, being in treatment and skill building programs, and creating a system of community supports.

Probation and Parole has three levels of supervision: Level I, Level II, and Case Bank

  • Level I Supervision

    • Higher risk individuals

    • Requires regular face-to-face contact and participation in treatment

    • Home visits and drug screening are done as necessary

  • Level II Supervision

    • Lower risk individuals

    • Usually requires only quarterly contact with a Probation and Parole Officer

    • Must follow the conditions of supervision to remain on Level II

  • Case Bank

    • Participant earns their way to case bank by following supervision conditions

    • Not required to report in person to their Probation and Parole Officer

    • Monitored with file reviews, treatment reports, and court accounting records
