Elder Abuse

Elder Abuse Prosecution Team
Washington County District Attorney's Office has a team of Deputy District Attorneys who have been trained to handle all cases where a vulnerable adult is victimized. The cases prosecuted are extremely diverse. They include theft, physical and sexual abuse, neglect and abuses of fiduciary duty and power of attorney to victims aged 65 and older. The Deputy District Attorneys are experienced in dealing with the sensitive dynamics involved in elder abuse cases where victims may be reluctant to report or speak about the abuse they have suffered.

Elder Abuse Multidisciplinary Team
Washington County's Elder Abuse Multidisciplinary Team consists of members from the District Attorney's Office, the Oregon Department of Human Services, Washington County Mental Health, Washington County's Department of Aging and Veteran's Services, local law enforcement agencies, private attorneys, Elder Safe, and other community based service programs. For over 15 years, the team has collaborated to bring coordinated services to individuals and improve the county's response to elder abuse cases.
