Spay & Neuter
Spaying your dog or cat is the right thing to do. Spayed or neutered dogs and cats are less likely to be aggressive, have fewer health problems, and are less likely to roam than animals that haven’t been altered. You’ll never have to face finding homes for puppies and kittens that, sadly, too often end up in shelters like ours.
If you have trouble affording spaying or neutering your pet, here are links to some programs that may be able to help:
Dogs & Cats
Oregon Humane Society offers a list of resources to assist people with spaying or neutering their pet.
The Spay and Save program is available to owned, stray and feral cats of Washington, Multnomah, Clackamas and Clark County residents. To qualify for the special $15 surgery, you must document that you currently receive government assistance such as Medicaid, WIC, Food Stamps, SSI, Section 8 Public Housing, AFDC, TANF, or other qualifying programs.
The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon provides affordable spay/neuter surgeries for feral cats only.
