HSUS--The Humane Society of the United States, based in Washington, D.C., is the nation's largest animal protection organization. Their mission is to celebrate all animals and confront cruelty to all animals. The HSUS has regional offices throughout the country.
American Humane--The American Humane Association is the only agency dedicated to the protection of both animals and children.
Oregon Spay/Neuter Fund--The Oregon Spay/Neuter Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending animal overpopulation. The OSNF provides a coupon good for discounted spay/neuter surgeries at certain Portland area vet clinics. You can get the coupon at the shelter or by clicking on their website.
DoveLewis--DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital provides emergency and critical care only. DoveLewis is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
AVMA--The American Veterinary Medical Association is a not-for-profit association for veterinarians worldwide. They provide a number of resources for pet owners and veterinarians alike.
OVMA--The Oregon Veterinary Medical Association is a not-for-profit association for veterinarians in Oregon. They, too, provide resources for both pet owner and other vets.
Cats Safe at Home--Cats Safe at Home is a collaborative effort to humanely reduce outdoor cats in the Portland metro region, and engage our community with ideas and information that value cats and wildlife.
Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon--The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon is dedicated to the humane treatment of feral cats. They work with communities and run a trap-neuter-return program to prevent future generations of feral cats.
Audubon Society of Portland--The Audubon Society of Portland helps protect native birds, other wildlife, and their habitats through rehabilitation and education. If you have a native bird who is injured, please call them first before bringing the animal to their Wildlife Care Center.
