Medicare Assistance

Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) is a statewide program providing free, unbiased help understanding options with Medicare benefits. SHIBA volunteers are trained, certified counselors who help current and new Medicare beneficiaries make informed decisions about their health and prescription drug plan choices. More information is also available at www.oregonshiba.org.

Need help? SHIBA counselors offer one-on-one counseling at community centers, private homes or wherever is convenient. Group presentations to help people understand the complexities of Medicare can be requested by calling 503-846-3094. Appointments are offered in Hillsboro at the Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services location as well as the Elsie Stuhr Center in Beaverton and the Tigard Senior Center.
