Registered environmental health specialists inspect school food service facilities for adherence to foodborne illness prevention measures such as food temperatures, food preparation practices, worker hygiene, dishwashing/sanitizing, equipment and facility cleanliness. Schools that do not participate in the National School Lunch Program are encouraged to arrange food safety and sanitation inspections via Washington County Environmental Health program contracts.

Private Businesses — Businesses that serve food and have closed campus policies (meaning a member of the public cannot enter the business unless they are escorted by someone who works or has business there) are encouraged to arrange food safety and sanitation inspections via Washington County Environmental Health program contracts.
