Community Service

Through restorative practices, the Community Service program attempts to build a sense of responsibility in youth toward the community. Partnerships with non-profit organizations allow the Juvenile Department to provide a variety of opportunities for youth to perform community service work. Depending on the level of involvement with the department, youth may either locate their own community service site, request to become involved with Community Links or participate on supervised work crews. Youth who participate on supervised work crews may earn credit that translates into direct payment of restitution to victims.
