Gales Creek project open house mapWashington County's Department of Land Use & Transportation invites the public to attend a project open house on May 13, 2015 for the upcoming Gales Creek Road bridge replacement project. The event will be held at the Gales Creek Fire Station, 52155 NW Old Wilson River Road. The public is invited to stop by anytime between 5 and 7 p.m. to learn more about the project. Project staff will be available to answer questions and solicit comments. No formal presentation is planned.

The existing bridge on Gales Creek Road over Gales Creek, located 500 feet south of Old Wilson River Road, is structurally deficient (showing signs of decay) and functionally obsolete (very narrow). This project will replace the existing bridge with a new structure that will be built above the flood plain and widened to provide two 12-foot wide travel lanes with shoulders to accommodate cyclists and occasional farm equipment. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2016.

Funding for this project is provided through the County's Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP).
