Learn about construction coming to Tualatin-Sherwood Road through an online construction kickoff open house through July 31.

Construction will begin this month and will be performed in six stages. Tualatin-Sherwood Road will remain open, but traffic will be flagged for daytime and nighttime lane closures throughout construction. Construction for the entire project is expected to be completed in September 2025.

Tualatin-Sherwood Road is being improved between Teton Avenue and Langer Farms Parkway with:

  • Two travel lanes in each direction and a center turn lane
  • Multiuse paths for cyclists and pedestrians
  • Storm drainage improvements and treatment facilities
  • Street lights

The road project is in coordination with the Willamette Water Supply System (WWSS) drinking water transmission pipeline installation.  A 66-inch diameter pipeline will be installed during the road construction project. This collaboration reduces the impact to the community by reducing cost and traffic impacts.

WWSS is a partnership between the Tualatin Valley Water District and the cities of Hillsboro and Beaverton to build an additional seismically-resilient regional water supply system in Washington County.

The $71.5 million project is funded through Washington County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP) and Willamette Water Supply System reimbursements.

For more information, visit the online kickoff event or contact Capital Project Services by email or by calling 503-846-7800.

Washington County is committed to planning, building and maintaining a great transportation system, ensuring the safety of all roadway users, and operating the County roadway system in cost-effective and environmentally responsible manner.
