Urban Road Maintenance District Publishes Annual Report

Washington County’s Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD) takes care of about 430 miles of urban neighborhood streets that are outside of cities. Pavement maintenance is URMD’s primary responsibility. Efficient and cost-effective maintenance planning and cyclical surface treatments have resulted in “good” or better pavement condition on almost 95 percent of URMD roads. Read the report to find out more about how URMD achieves this high standard.

In September 2011, the URMD Board expanded the services eligible for URMD funding to include construction of safety improvements. The URMD Advisory Committee will have input into selection of safety projects.

The Urban Road Maintenance District’s 2010-2011 Annual Report is available online. To request a printed copy of the report, contact 503-846-ROAD (846-7623) or wc-roads@co.washington.or.us.
