119th Avenue Sidewalk

119th Avenue between NW Cornell Road and NW McDaniel Road previously lacked sidewalks, resulting in pedestrians being forced to walk in the roadway adjacent to narrow travel lanes. Due to this section of 119th Avenue’s proximity to shopping, schools and transit facilities, pedestrian volumes are high.

This project added sidewalks to the west side of 119th Avenue between Cornell Road and McDaniel Road and included minor street widening and storm drainage upgrades.

In addition to this project, missing sections of sidewalk were constructed on the north side of Cornell Road between Saltzman and 119th.

This $2.2 million project was funded in part through Oregon House Bill 2001, also known as the Jobs and Transportation Act. This Act allocates vehicle registration revenues for county road programs. The remainder of the project was funded with County Road Capital funds. Road Capital funds come from the sales of county owned properties from previous capital projects.
